Influence of lime on planting tube biodegradation
Biodegradation of the planting tube can be accelerated to a greater or lesser extent by raising the pH value.
The influence of finely dispersed lime (in the form of Champagne chalk):
5g/litre of substrate is sufficient to neutralise the substrate’s acidity. So, to accelerate the biodegradation of the tubular root guard, we recommend adding lime a few days before planting.
